6 Things to Do When You're Snowed In at Your Gatlinburg Cabin Rental

Winter in the Smoky Mountains can be fairly unpredictable, so that means it may snow while you're on your Gatlinburg cabin rental vacation. There's nothing better than being '˜snowed in' in a cabin, though, right? When you're snowed in, there's actually quite a bit you can do while you're hanging out in the cabin for the day. Here are a few ideas:

1. Plan a Movie Night

Even if you're not staying in a cabin with a home theater room, you can still plan a fun movie night. Just pop some popcorn, pass out some favorite candies, and put a special movie in the DVD player. Then, just curl up on the couch under a blanket with your snacks. Your family will love spending this time together while watching the snow fall outside.(Also Popular:

2. Relax in a Hot Tub

If you're staying in a cabin with a hot tub, don't forget to pack your bathing suits. Even if it's snowing outside, the hot tub will keep you warm! Step into the hot tub for a little while and relax as you watch the steam from the hot tub mix with the cool mountain air. You'll be sitting outside enjoying the mountain snow while you're curled up warmly in a bubbling hot tub.

4. Build a Snowman

Of course, being in a Gatlinburg cabin all day seems like it might get kind of boring, but it's not if you're prepared with all sorts of fun things, like snow day snacks! You can heat up some hot chocolate, roast marshmallows, make s'mores, or even snow cream! If you've never made snow cream before, it's really simple! All you do is mix together milk, vanilla, sugar, and snow in a large mixing bowl. Then, enjoy! Just that easy!

6. Sit by the Fire

Some of our cabin rentals come equipped with a fireplace. During any cold day, you can sit by the fireplace and read books or just enjoy time together. You can turn on the TV and just sit back and relax or curl up for a mid-afternoon nap on the couch. Are you ready to start planning a vacation to the Smokies? First, decide which size cabin you're going to need for your vacation. Do you need a two bedroom cabin, a three bedroom cabin, or even a large group cabin for a group retreat? Either way, all of Stony Brook's Gatlinburg cabin rentals are fully equipped with everything to make your snow day in the Smoky Mountains lots of fun.
