1. The Donut Friar
Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen isn't technically a bakery, but it is one of the best places to go when you're craving something sweet! This shop was founded in 1950 by a couple who wanted to provide tourists with wholesome homemade candies. The best part was that the candy was made in full view of people passing by. Candy makers could be seen stirring copper kettles while feeding taffy into hypnotic machines. Today, Ole Smoky Candy Kitchen still provides tourists with the same delicious candy. With more than 20 different flavors of taffy, you'll feel like you have endless options of treats to choose from. Candy isn't the only thing you can find there, though! The shop has delicious, homemade fudge, brittles, caramels and more. It's one of the most popular sweet shops in downtown Gatlinburg!
