Just because you're spending time at Ober Mountain doesn't mean you have to go skiing. It might sound crazy, but there's so much more to do at Ober Mountain than skiing and snowboarding. We've got the details of our favorite things to do in Ober Mountain for anyone who doesn't want to spend their day skiing the slopes.
1. Ice Skating
Want to spend some time enjoying the chilly atmosphere, but you're not looking to bundle up and get out on the slopes, ice skating may be for you! It's a classic afternoon activity for kids and adults and will be a lot of fun during your Gatlinburg vacation!
2. Snow Tubing
If you don't want to go skiing or snowboarding, but you still want to enjoy the snow, try snow tubing. It's much easier than skiing and it's just a fun way to get out and enjoy the outdoors. All you do is just bundle up and ride a tube down a huge hill and enjoy the thrill of the mountainside. The best part is - you don't even have to make the hike back to the top of the hill! We will give you a quick ride back to the top so you can go tubing over and over again! *Snow tubing is only open during winter months. 3. Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway
Looking for things to do in Ober Mountain that get you away from the cold weather? They've got you covered for that, too! Throughout the year, the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway has become one of the best places to see the views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The Aerial Tramway will take you high over the mountaintops to showcase views like you've never seen before! You'll definitely want your cameras for the ride. *One of the most popular times to take a ride on the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway is the fall season because you can get the best view of all of the fall colors changing across the tops of the mountains.
4. Ski Mountain Coaster
The Ski Mountain Coaster is one of the newest additions to Ober Mountain, and the attraction is open year-round! On the alpine coaster, you cover over 3000 feet in approximately 6 minutes of fun while zipping through turns and curves. The coaster is located just below the peak of Mt. 5. Shopping & Restaurants
Of course, at Ober Mountain, there's lots of shopping and restaurants for anyone who just wants to get out and enjoy the area. You can find anything from souvenirs to gallery pieces and more.
