Tanglewood Mountain Lodge was amazing. It had absolutely stunning views; pure serenity! I was visiting with 8 couples from high school that I had not seen in a long time. The place was big enough to get alone time when required. The game room, sauna, porch, fire pit, and jacuzzi were all big hits! If I had one request, I would ask that higher seating be built for the sauna. The seats were at ground level, and the heat wasn't felt to its full extent. I had to stand on the seat to get a sweat. But absolutely 5 stars and will do it again. Great Place!

Tanglewood was just what we needed for a our large group! It was clean, well appointed and all of the amenities (arcade games, swim spa, hot tub, etc) worked great. The rental group was very responsive as well. We would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

Great rental, perfect for our needs. Turns out having two dishwashers and two stoves/ovens is a huge help! The small refrigerators under the coffee bar were also incredibly convenient. Clean, comfortable, with easy access and fantastic views. Thanks!

Unlike most Airbnb stays, Stony Brook actually seems to care about their guests. They provide all the amenities you would expect from a hotel (like shampoo, conditioner, body wash and lotion in sealed packages in every bathroom) and they don't ask you to do all of their laundry and deep clean. (Cue eye roll to every other rental on this site.) They called to introduce themselves and give us recommendations for grocery delivery and other services. Then they sent emails and texts to keep us updated every step of the way.
The house is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The driveway is gated and easy to find. The fireplaces inside are gas with timers for worry-free operation, and the large windows show off the amazing views. Would recommend.

Wonderful stay for a birthday friends trip. Our prior reservation cancelled the night before and we were fortunate to find Stony Brook, as they were so accommodating. It ended up being way better than our originally booking! Had a wonderful time. Beautiful house with beautiful views. Very peaceful!

The MOST beautiful location, serene view, felt very private with the gate to get in, such a super cool front door, well-supplied kitchen (though the knives need sharpening!) and lovely decor throughout. We really liked the central fireplace that kept everything warm. The GIANT swim spa was a favorite, movie room was awesome (we watched Megamind) and the arcade games were very entertaining although a couple weren’t in working order. Bedrooms were all so nice and clean, beds were luxurious and cozy, we all had HOT water in the bathrooms, and plenty of towels were provided. What a truly lovely way to spend our weekend!!

I brought in about 20 coworkers for a group retreat, and the house couldn't have been more accommodating. Such a great size, plenty of room inside and outside, and the views were unbelievable! Very clean & organized, the owners have done a phenomenal job. I'd for sure rent this cabin again!

This cabin is beautiful, well-kept, and designed for large gatherings. The views are breathtaking, the beds are super comfortable, and we loved the follow up and support we got from the Stony Brook team to make sure we were ok. Overall, our group (18 adults) had a great experience at the Tanglewood Mountain Lodge! Minus a few minor issues that the maintenance team was able to quickly fix (e.g., power/mechanical issues with the swim spa, mechanical issues with the game room television, mechanical issues with the projector in the theater room, no chalk for the pool table), the property was everything we imagined and so much more! We will definitely be returning to the property soon! Great job Tanglewood Mountain Lodge team!

We had the best time here. Such a beautiful cabin and very secluded. We had a couple minor maintenance issues which we made aware of and they were quick to respond. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week at Tanglewood Lodge. There were 20 of us and we never seemed to be on top of each other. The views were spectacular and lodge big enough to spread out yet warm and cozy enough to feel like home. Maintenance arrived within a reasonable matter of time to address any issues we may have had. The master on the basement/walkout level was always freezing while the remainder of that a space was hot. It has two highchair which is not mentioned even after calling and asking about them and renting a booster seat from them.

This cabin was perfect! Us and 16 of our friends and family members stayed here for our wedding and it was perfect to have everyone in one place. The views were incredible and the perfect backdrop for pictures. It was very secluded! The private road was a little steep but worth it to get the views the cabin offers! We even saw a bear on the property one day! (Make sure to lock your cars!) The game room/arcade area was a big hit and the movie room was great for football/wrestling/etc. The beds were comfortable and most rooms had an incredible view of the mountains. This property was worth every penny and we would definitely book again if we had a large group.

Plenty of room for a large family to gather and enjoy inside or outside. Very well thought out! Everything you would need for a week was there! Loved that they had table areas for all both inside and on the patio’s. Recreation room had many extras to keep people entertained if raining or in the evening hours! Would definitely stay there again!!!

The house was perfect. Each family had two bedrooms and a bathroom. We had the master suite! Wonderful. 15 all ate together at one table. Sunsets off the deck, gorgeous. Our grandchildren loved the arcade games, and family movie viewing of the Black Widow, in the media room, awesome.

I have NO complaints. The cabin was very nice, beds were comfortable, just an exceptional stay. Staff called the first couple of days just to make sure everything was going well; all of the ladies that I spoke with were very pleasant. I will definitely return.

We had a very great experience in a fabulous cabin! The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and there’s just no words for how much our kids loved playing the video games and using the swim spa. The sauna was also very convenient especially in the cold weather season.

The stay was amazing. The only drawback was that we couldn't check in at the appropriate check in time. The cleaning had not been completed yet. There was one bedroom that we couldn't figure out how to turn on the TV but didn't request assitance as we didn't watch much TV at all. I would surely stay again.

This property was great for our family of 8. We especially loved the big deck and the beautiful view and that we were able to eat all of our meals outside. We enjoyed the game tables and movie theater as well as the hiking in the area. The communication with the property manager was easy and helpful.

Immaculate house and contactless check-in made our stay as care-free as it could have been. The hot water takes a minute to reach it's destination in so big of a house so enjoy some of your morning coffee and be patient. We will be back very soon.

I did extensive research into all properties that satisfied our wants and needs in the area. This house, when compared to similar sized houses, was more expensive, but had better rooms, family areas, game areas, outdoor areas and view. There may be other houses with a better view, but the lack in the other areas to consider. We know we had the best house for our price range and our family's needs. We had four adults and four kids. We could have easily fit 6 more people and not have been crowded. The house can fit many more, but we like our space. The biggest draw back to this house is the ammenities in the kitchen. World class kitchen, but when you are in from out of town for a few days, it is very difficult to think of EVERYTHING when trying to cook a meal. Although the house has all "equipment" it had absolutely zero cooking staples. No salt, pepper, spices, cooking spray, etc. Pantry is completely bare. There are also little to no cleaning supplies to properly clean up after yourself if you are cooking a big meal. Dish brushes, sponges, cleaners for surfaces are non existent. I have stayed at many similar houses and never run into this problem. It was just a frustrating part of the trip knowing everything else about the house was great, except for this part. I would recommend this house to anyone, but just know that you will need every single detail for a meal that you want to cook and you will have a hard time cleaning up after yourself.

The owner put a great deal of thought and effort into furnishing the kitchen and the entire house with everything you might need to make your vacation wonderful. However, for your safety, we do not leave any condiments or cleaning supplies in the kitchen. This would include salt, pepper, spices , cooking spray, plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Cleaning supplies could be a hazard for small children so we are careful not to leave those either. Your safety will always be our number one priority at Stony Brook Cabins! We do leave dish towels rather than sponges as they can be properly sanitized, but I will most certainly pass the recommendations along to see if we can come up with any solutions for that problem! We are always looking for ways to improve our service to our guests and we truly appreciate your input and suggestions. The entire family thoroughly enjoyed the house, grounds, and amenities. There was plenty of room to gather together as well as spread out. I had a couple of boys that were disappointed that the shooting game was out of order, but they had a blast with the other games. The spa pool and hot tub were a nice addition to the evenings, along with the fire pits. Overall we would definitely rent that cabin again. We've actually started thinking about coming back next year.

We had an such a great time the cabin was more amazing in person. We had 7 kids and other then family activities all together the kids all had so much fun in the game room and movie room we never heard "we are bored". We loved every minute highly recommend for big group.
