Loved every minute of our stay! The drive up the mountain is intimidating (we refused to stay out past dusk as there are lots of winding roads with no light or guard rails in places) but once you get there, it’s worth it!

We loved staying at the bear and the trout! The location is perfect, we saw bears almost every day, and the layout was really nice for our family. My only suggestion would be to add a baby gate for the stairs, and a few more towels. We didn’t really have enough to go around, especially for those using the hot tub. We had a few issues with bugs (worms) and the air conditioner, but those were addressed immediately by the Stonybrook team. It was a great stay, and we will be back.

We loved the cabin! The view was amazing and the location was perfect! Loved the easy parking….flat and right off the road! The cabin is right on top of downtown Gatlinburg so it was nice not having to fight the traffic every time we went out. We would for sure stay here again!

This 4 bedroom, 4 private bathroom cabin was absolutely perfect for our group of 8. The view was stunning! The outdoor seating, fireplace and hot tub are the perfect addition to this beautiful home. We couldn't have asked for more, except for maybe a few more days!!! I really appreciated the personalized customer service and follow up once we arrived at the cabin. The staff was so helpful and friendly. I will definitely be looking here first the next time we come to Tennessee.

The cabin was beautiful and spacious. Large bedrooms and bathrooms for every guest. Great entertainment option downstairs and the TVs had content to watch. The views were amazing and the hot tub was a nice amenity. The only thing I would be aware of is, when driving in the snowy conditions the roads up to the cabin may be nervy for some, especially at night. Other than that, the parking is very convenient and it is close to downtown Gatlinburg, very close to Ober Mountain, and not far from Pigeon Forge. Highly recommend it for large groups that want a comfortable space and convenience for activities in town.

We loved staying at the Bear & Trout. The view was amazing! The house was cozy and still large enough to accommodate, comfortably, our extended family. The pool table and arcade game provided hours of entertainment. 100% recommend!

The view during the morning, afternoon and evening was breathtaking! The cabin was beautiful and clean. The wrap around porch with the hot tub was amazing to sit on/in at night and just relax. It had it all. But more than anything, it was a home away from home.

We loved our time at the cabin. Beautiful view and the neighborhood is peaceful. The layout of the cabin was perfect for our group. We had 2 people with disabilities that limit their mobility and the 2 king rooms on the main floor were perfect and easy to access.

The view from the cabin was glorious! The cabin itself could not have been better!! We had four families and it worked perfectly. All king beds, 4 bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. My grandkids loved the pool table and arcade game. We would highly recommend this cabin. And the property manager was helpful and prompt.

The perfect cabin for a long weekend with family. The view was absolutely stunning. The cabin was very clean. We loved that there weren’t any steps to get into the cabin, only going to the basement obviously. Plenty of cleaning supplies ( dish soap, dishwasher pods,etc.). We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back!

Cabin was just as described and maybe even better! Super clean and the views were amazing! The GPS was definitely needed as lots of twists and turns, and different ways of getting in - but well worth the drive!

Awesome Cabin. If you are looking for unlimited mountain views, this is your cabin. Check in was seamless. Had a couple minor issues and Stony Brook was fast to respond. Easy 10 min scenic drive to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Only thing kissing is some family board games and some playing cards, but other than that, the cabin is perfect.

Very clean, good location between PF and GB. However, the cabin is located on a mountain and you have to travel in a very steep, curvy road. We wouldn’t try to make it there in the snow or ice, but it was easy to get to for our fall break trip. Our parents stayed with us too, so we appreciated the 4 king suites, each with its own bathroom, and two of them were on the main level, which was perfect for our parents who can’t/shouldn’t climb too many stairs. Stony Brook was very reachable for any questions we had and everyone was super nice!

Super nice cabin with a great view. Stony Brook’s staff were really nice to talk to. Comfortable mattresses, everyone slept well. Our parents joined us on this trip and a couple of them can’t/ shouldn’t climb stairs, so we really appreciated the main entrance and master suites on the main level. With king rooms and bathrooms on the lower level, we had plenty of room for 9 adults and a toddler. Just need a few more remotes for the TVs, but that didn’t have a negative impact on our stay. Roads to get there are definitely mountain roads, so I wouldn’t want to try to get to the cabin w snow or ice on the roads, but it was fine for our fall break trip. Beautiful area and cabin, and good memories made! Thank you, Stony Brook, we would rent again!

The cabin was fantastic. Our group had a great time. A couple of notes for you The outdoor fireplace on the upstairs deck did not work. The door to the room downstairs furthest from the stairs would not latch. Neither item impacted our stay at all. Wonderful place

Our cabin was perfect. We had an issue with the outdoor fireplace, which of course we did not know until evening. I called the after hours number to report. It was a little confusing as to who I should have reported this to. The next day I did receive a return call and that evening we were able to enjoy the outdoor fireplace. Pilot light issue. This was the best evening, just relaxing by the fire place. Also, we were all so excited over the number of towels, paper towels and toliet tissue given for our stay. It was great to not have to worry about a store run for these items. OH, and coffee to get us started was so much appreciated.

Our family loved the cabin. Having a bathroom for each bedroom was perfect. We enjoyed the pool table, hot tub and outdoor fireplace on the deck. Having breakfast on the deck with a lovely view was wonderful!

We were all very happy (eight adults and one teenager) with the cabin. The game room provided hours of entertainment. The cabin was also big enough to allow everyone ample space. Any calls to rental staff were answered with genuine hospitality.

Definitely recommend this property. The views are completely unobstructed and spectacular. We did have a bear visit the first couple days of out trip, don't worry he was below the decks. The house was exactly what we needed with our party of 11. The downstairs was perfect for the teenager/pre-teen group and the upstairs guests with the baby were unaffected by the noise. The pool is a mile from the house and very nice. This welcome center is down the mountain so the location is great for picking up the trolley. This property is 5* for sure.

Wonderful stay & cabin.. very impressed!! The views were spectacular! Lots of room for 10 people..very spacious! We had a bear open our Tahoe door & eat the snacks we accidentally left in car..it was quite exciting! No damage to interior just dirt & crumbs.. next day we spot our bear on the road back to our cabin!! Kids loved the experience… GREAT TIME!! We will talk about our bear for many years!

Cabin was prepared for our arrival and check-in easy offering door code for entry. The Bear and Trout was very comfortable. 8 adults easily enjoyed the thoughtful accommodations. This was a much needed getaway! The cabin was beautiful, well kept, clean and THE VIEW!! The view was to die for. I would definitely stay at the Bear and Trout again. This cabin would have been well deserving of a 5 star review but the Wifi signal was a bit weak and 2 of the televisions were not working.

Very nicely equipped and decorated cabin, spacious, clean, great decks with fantastic views, had a wonderful time watching the wildlife and the stars! The drive/parking Is right off the road so no need to worry about windy driveway! Will definitely choose this cabin again when we come back to the Smokey Mountains!

We enjoyed our stay at Bear and Trout Cabin. The cabin was very well equipped, clean, great decorating and very comfortable beds. It was spacious and uncluttered. The parking was right in front of the house which was nice because you didn't have to navigate any long windy driveways. Decks and Hot Tub allowed us to view all the nature during the day and stars at night!

The back deck is where you'll want to spend most of your time. The place was clean, spacious and did not want for anything. We saw bears on the front porch then walking down our street the morning we were leaving. Awesome animals so read up about how to act around them. The fire history on that ridge is fascinating, humbling and saddening. Some cabin owners haven't rebuilt so you get to see what's left and the engineering involved. The roads to get up and down can be scary and or intimidating to some but the drives are well worth it. Again, the views are gorgeous and so is the cabin and we will be going back for sure!! Thank you awesome management team!!

The first words out of ours mouths when we walked in was WOW! This place is gorgeous! From the decorations to the views. We never wanted to leave! The beds were very comfortable. Plenty of towels for everyone. The kitchen had all the dishes we needed, including a crock pot, which we used everyday! There were plenty of dishes for our group of 8. We enjoyed the deck furniture the most. We sat out every night with a glass of wine and enjoyed the view. Even during a rain shower we stayed dry. The kids enjoyed the lower level. They liked having a small fridge for their drinks. The parking is flat right in front of the cabin, no steep driveway. If you’re prone to motion sickness I’d advice taking something for the drive up and down! It’s a long windy road but definitely worth it for the views! The neighborhood pool was great too! We have no complaints about this property! It’s amazing how a short 10 minute drive you’re away from the noise of the city. It’s so peaceful. We saw a bear almost every day along side the road somewhere. Even saw one climb a tree from our deck! Book this cabin now! You won’t regret it!

Our cabin was very clean and had all the amenities you could ask for. Furniture and bedding was very comfortable. The view was beautiful despite the trees that were burned by the fire that took place 4 years ago. Many homes are currently being built in this area.
